Home -> Home_concept -> Alsacian_project ->An equestrian center
The equestrian center is a place for exchange and sharing. It clearly responds to the identified needs of disabled and able bodied people since it offers activities for both needs. These exchanges are favored by the contact with the horses and ponies.
The equestrian center is built around three main poles:
- Adapted riding
Adapted recreation or competitive riding uses the basic principle of learning riding techniques. It is directed towards riders with disabilities. The pleasure given to people in difficulty by this type of therapy may be an important vector of progression, as well as the practice of adapted sports seeks to standardize people living isolated or in an institute. The activities are adapted according to the different disabilities and employ various suitable materials (saddle, fun accessories etc.).
- Therapy with horses:
The therapy with horses forms part of a dynamic care. The explicit aim of the care therapy with horses tends to improve the quality of life or well-being in general on the physical, relational, emotional and psychological axes.
- Western riding:
Western riding is a mindset, a set of techniques issued from working on a ranch and long rides through the American West. The riding seeks a balanced harmony between the horse and its rider, a certain created bond. A facilitated comfortable saddle and safe equipment, small calm horses, quiet and listening, with a playful side, allow any rider from 7 to 77 years to have fun safely. We favor this friendly riding because it does there are no specialized structures in Western riding, in the region. Recreational and competitive horse riding will be practiced.
Other type of activities proposed:
Classical riding, Walks with horses or ponies in carriages, Discovery days for school visits or families, Holiday courses or thematic courses, Pension for horses with or without work, Aerobatics, baby pony, performances or other events.
