The Alsatian Project

A perfect geographical spot

Located next to Germany and Switzerland, in the heart of an economic and dynamic area, the French region Alsace enjoys a notable geographical situation. To its south, the small towns of Feldkirch and Ungersheim, in the French department Haut-Rhin, are located right between Mulhouse and Colmar which are the two biggest cities of Alsace after Strasbourg.
This is the place where Domaine Nature will be built.

Easy access is guaranteed thanks to:

    - the departmental road 430 which reaches Mulhouse in 10 minutes and Colmar in 15 minutes
    - the access to Taxi-Bus and Domi-Bus, adapted to disabled people
    - the proximity with the Bollwiller station
    - the proximity with the border thanks to motorways network
    - the access to the international airport of Basel-Mulhouse in 30 minutes
    - the access to the TGV (French high speed train) station in 15 minutes

This allows quick access to the Mulhouse agglomeration.

The old mining site "Terril Alex": a welcoming land

The project takes place on the former mining site of the slag heap called Alex. The spot of 27 hectares straddles the two small towns of Feldkirch and Ungersheim. The rehabilitation of the mining lands is a way to preserve the "collective memory" and to give them back to "nature and public use".

Within the scope of the project, the small towns Feldkirch and Ungersheim are particularly interesting. On one hand, the area is very touristic thanks to the proximity of the Ecomusée of Alsace and the amusement park Bioscope. The future project of self catering holiday apartments from Pierre & Vacances is also a benefit. On the other hand, the two towns are part of the CAMSA (Communauté d'Agglomérations de Mulhouse Sud Alsace) which is a conglomeration of the towns around Mulhouse - greater Mulhouse - which is another major benefit.

Both the mayors support this project as it is linked to their concerns of acting in social and ecological issues.
Last but not least, the area shows an important touristic attractiveness thanks to its numerous parks and museums, its mountain range (The Vosges) and its famous wine route of Alsace.
